Milestone Students Out and About

The first couple of weeks of Module 2 have been busy for our Phase 3 and 4 students.

Students in Phase 3 have been building up their confidence through community participation. Our students have attended the local Carers / Memory Cafe in New Ash Green, where they have supported the Community Warden by helping with refreshments, interacting with the participants by playing games and doing jigsaws and even helping with the raffle! This work forms part of fulfilling our students’ community participation objectives, including developing their skills for work, and their communication. It was great to see them getting involved and thriving while doing so.

Rochester class have been working hard on their business enterprise project. Last week they took a trip to B&M and Aldi to conduct market research on the costs of Christmas decorations and ornaments. They used their findings to work out their own budget and how much they will charge for their homemade Christmas items that they will be making in school, to sell  later this term at Wilmington Market.

Elsewhere students in Upnor and Hever classes have already started to produce wooden ornaments (Upnor) and christmas cards (Hever) which will they will be selling at our own Christmas events.
